Joining a Wi-Fi Network and Internet Browsing
Before you browse the Internet with the MP180, you will need to join a Wi-Fi
network that has access to the Internet. The MP180 makes it easy to join Wi-Fi
networks by supporting today’s Wi-Fi networks and encryption standards. This
section shows you how to join a Wi-Fi network. Tap the Settings icon to find the
Wi-Fi Settings button. The MP180 is compatible with the following Wi-Fi and
encryption standards:
Wi-Fi Compatibility: 802.11n (802.11g and 802.11b)
Wi-Fi Encryption Compatibility: WEP 64-Open, WEP 128-Open, WPA-Personal
TKIP, WPA2-Personal AES, WPA/WPA2 Personal, WPA-Personal TKIP/AES, WPA2-
Personal TKIP/AES

Search Complete
1 On and Off buttons - Tap the
On or Off button to turn Wi-Fi on
or off. When Wi-Fi is turned on,
it will start searching for Wi-Fi
networks within range. The word
“Searching” will appear in the
message area of the window.
Once the MP180 has completed
the search, the word “Search
Complete” will appear in the
message area. If you want to
search for Wi-Fi networks again,
tap the On button again to search for Wi-Fi networks.
2 List of Wi-Fi networks - Tap the name of the Wi-Fi network you wish the
MP180 to join. If the list is greater than three, use the scroll buttons to view
the other networks on the list.
3 Scroll buttons - Tap the arrow buttons to scroll up and down the list of Wi-Fi
networks.
4 Back button - Return to the Settings Screen.
5 Status Messages:
Searching - The MP180 is searching for Wi-Fi networks within range.
Search Complete - The MP180 has completed its search.
Enter the Wi-Fi Passphrase or Password
Once you have selected a Wi-Fi network, a keyboard will appear when a
passphrase or password is required. The MP180 will return to the Settings screen
after the Wi-Fi connection is made and the Wi-Fi bars on the Status bar of the
home screen will show the signal strength.
