You can send a fax, make copies, and scan
from the ADF (automatic document feeder).
Note
The Scan feature is not available for
FAX-2820 and FAX-2920.
Using the automatic
document feeder (ADF)
FAX-2820 and MFC-7220:
The ADF can hold up to 20 pages, feeding
each one individually through the machine.
Use standard 20 lb (80 g/m
2
) paper and
always fan the pages before putting them in
the ADF.
FAX-2920 and MFC-7225N:
The ADF can hold up to 30 pages, if you
stagger the pages and meet the following
conditions:
Temperature: 68° F - 86° F (20° - 30°C)
Humidity: 50% - 70%
Paper: Xerox 4200 or Xerox 4024
(20 lb/Letter)
Make sure documents written with ink are
completely dry.
Documents to be faxed must be from 5.8
to 8.5 in. (147.3 to 215.9 mm) wide and
3.9 to 14 in. (100 to 356 mm) long.

Pull out the ADF document support.

Fan the pages well. Make sure you put
the documents face down, top edge
first in the ADF until you feel them touch
the feed roller.

Adjust the paper guides to fit the width of
your documents.
CAUTION
DO NOT use paper that is curled,
wrinkled, folded, ripped, stapled,
paper-clipped, pasted or taped.
DO NOT use cardboard, newspaper or
fabric.
CAUTION
DO NOT pull on the document while it is
feeding.
