9.4 Configuring Time Zone and NTP
Tools > Date and Time
You can configure your time zone, whether or not to adjust for Daylight Savings
Time, and with which Network Time Protocol (NTP) server to synchronize the date
and time. You can choose to set Date and Time manually, which will store the
information on the controller real time clock (RTC). If the controller has access to the
internet, the most accurate mechanism to set the controller time is to enable NTP
server communication.
Accurate date and time on the controller is critical for firewall schedules, Wi-Fi
power saving support to disable APs at certain times of the day, and accurate
logging.
Please follow the steps below to configure the NTP server:
5. Select the controller time zone, relative to Greenwich Mean Time (GMT).
6. If supported for your region, click to Enable Daylight Savings.
7. Determine whether to use default or custom Network Time Protocol (NTP) servers. If
custom, enter the server addresses or FQDN.
